Too many animals are in shelters and left on the streets; more than ever before because of the poor economy and a lack of dedication to our furry friends. You can not save the world, but surely it will change the world for that one animal you are able to provide a life full of warmth, affection, kindness, good healthy food and clean water to name but just a few.
Volunteering is not always easy! Sometimes we have to say goodbye to a dog that we really want or just flat out love. Finding permanent homes is often difficult but always very rewarding! When you know you've helped to make a good match, a match that seems it was meant to be, you feel proud and satisfied. Maybe a little sad to say goodbye to your foster friend, but you'll always know that it was you that helped to find him a home for life.
The alternative to rescuing, fostering, and finding permanent homes for some shelter dogs is death. So, if fostering an animal is something you feel incapable of doing right now in your life, volunteer in some other way.
Karmic Connections Animal Rescue provides rescue, fostering, and cats and dogs for adoption. Located in the San Francisco South Bay Area, we have foster homes in Santa Clara County, Santa Cruz County, and Marin County.
