HARLO, San Diego

While Harlo can be nervous in new environments and with new people, once she gets comfortable, this lady is very affectionate.

She just wants to be with her humans. She loves car rides.
Harlo is always excited to go out for walks and walks well on a leash. She knows some basic commands such as sit and has learned to sit and wait for her food or to come in from outside.
Great with other dogs, cats, and kids!
Lives with cats, dogs in home, children but prefers the energy of children over 12 yrs old.

Trudy, San Diego, Shepherd mix 2 yrs

Based on four levels presented by the German Shepherd Rescue Organization, we determined Trudy is Level 2 – Moderate & Adaptable

"Balanced mix of confidence and submissiveness. Middle of the road dogs, fairly eager to please. Will occasionally test leadership abilities, but really don’t want to be the leader."
"Usually Moderate Energy, can range from Low to High, which can be satisfied with daily walks and play or training time. Need some basic obedience lessons, then may need occasional refresher courses."
Trudy can be protective.
This level fits the widest variety of households.

ALL German Shepherds:

Are intelligent, energetic, powerful, alert, bossy, noisy and mouthy (like to use their teeth)
Are protective, possessive and territorial, and usually won’t let strangers walk in the door
Are control freaks with strong herding drive (instincts), and usually have strong prey drive
Shed all year long, and will shed twice as heavily in the spring and fall
Need ongoing socialization, structure, leadership, exercise, training and affection
Need to be made a part of the family, and are not good as outside-only dogs
Need a purpose in life, or will find their own amusements by barking, chewing, digging and escaping.

Ebony, ADOPTED ! yay for Ebony!

Ebony has such a playful and kindly puppy, showing affectionate from tail to nose.

Retrievers are known for their intelligence and genuine eagerness to please their humans, which makes training relatively easy.
He is a puppy and once acclimated to his new surroundings will continue to build his confidence through regular socialization opportunities.
Lovable Ebony needs to be around his family, and is definitely not a backyard dog. If left alone for too long, he and other dogs will probably tarnish their saintly reputation: A lonely, bored Ebony is apt to dig, chew, or find other destructive outlets for their energy.
Some owners think Retrievers don't need training, but without training, a rambunctious puppy will soon grow to be a very large, rowdy dog.
Ebony is approximately 5 months old, weighs around 20 pounds and a quick learner. Adult weight may be upwards of 55.

Spinel, ADOPTED ! yay for Spinel !

Spinel is like a wispy butterfly, shy and cautious at first, and may take a while to warm up, but after humans assure him, he is ready to settle in and get comfy and close. He is aware of his surroundings, sensitive and kind, and will quickly chum up with those who are gentle with him.
Like most puppies, he can be very excitable, bubbly, and energetic. His energy is playful. Silliness and giggles warm his heart.
Spinel is fostered with other dogs, cats, adult humans and teens.
With proper socialization, Spinel will grow into a confident, well-trained doggie.
His adult size will be medium, estimated to be upwards of 50 pounds.
Apollo is still a puppy, important to provide lots of chew toys.

We are waiting to hear from the foster family all about this little lady.

We do know that she is super friendly, jovial, happy-go-lucky kinda girl! She lives with other foster dogs, in-house cats, both male and female humans along with a teenager. How much better can a home get!
