ADOPTION TERMS & AGREEMENT: Before you take home a new furry friend it is very important that we know that he/she will be loved and cared for for the rest of his/her life. In consideration for adopting from Karmic Rescue, please read and check each of the following terms below.

TERM 1:
I agree to accept and consider the dog as a household companion, not as an outside pet, and to provide him/her with humane care and treatment, including proper food, water, shelter, and exercise, and to give him/her a reasonable amount of time to adjust to new surroundings.

TERM 2:
I agree to provide proper medical/veterinary care, including yearly checkups, vaccinations, and heartworm prevention medicine, as well as veterinary care for unusual symptoms such as loss of appetite, coughing, vomiting, diarrhea, blood in urine/stool, allergies, skin conditions, and lethargy.

TERM 3:
I agree to safeguard the dog from loss or mishap.

TERM 4:
I agree to contact Karmic Rescue if I can no longer keep the animal.

TERM 5:
I agree to immediately notify Karmic Rescue or a local shelter/organization if the dog is lost, and to make every reasonable effort to recover the animal.

TERM 6:
I agree to NOT give or sell the dog to another person, relative, rescue group, humane association, shelter, pound, any medical or experimental laboratory, or similar organization.

TERM 7:
I agree to if it needed to pursue either professional training and/or behavior assessment.

TERM 8:
I agree to NOT change or alter the dog's appearance in any way, shape or form (e.g. cropping, docking).

TERM 9:
I agree to immediately notify Karmic Rescue of any change of address or telephone number within the first year following the submission of this contract, and of any change in circumstances which may prevent me from keeping the animal or to comply with any of the terms of this contract.

TERM 10:
I understand that no representations are made as to the temperamental or mental disposition of the animal. Accordingly, I hereby adopt the animal at my own risk.

TERM 11:
I agree to have the animal examined by a licensed veterinarian within ten days of adoption. I understand that the animal has been checked, spayed, and vaccinated by a licensed veterinarian and that his/her state of health is accurately represented to the best knowledge of Karmic Rescue. If upon such examination it is determined that the health of the animal is not satisfactory, I may return the dog only to Karmic Rescue and will not request a refund of my donation.

TERM 12:
I promise and agree to be solely responsible for any damages to people or property caused by the animal(s). I further promise and agree to indemnify and release Karmic Rescue and its team members of any and all liability arising from any known, unknown, or unanticipated damages to people or property caused by the animal(s).

TERM 13:
I understand that the animal's experience in the shelter or it's foster home may be different than what it displays in its new home.

TERM 14:
I agree to properly socialize all dogs whether a puppy, adult, or senior.

TERM 15:
I agree that I am financially capable of providing proper training if deemed necessary for any one of my dogs.
