Did I Just Adopt A Pit Bull!
Our Family Does Not Want a Pit Bull!

If you have thought about this in your family, probably better off not adopting from us or any mutt on the planet.

Case in Point

Sweetie now 12 years old, adopted from a shelter, thought to be a Greyhound mix.  DNA test revealed Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Staffordshire Terrier, German Shepherd and Rottweiler.

KARMIC RESCUE WITHOUT BORDERS, OUR VOLUNTEERS, OUR VETS, AND FRIENDS HAVE FUN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE BREED OF A DOG.

Will the dog bother someone's allergies? Does the dog have any Pit Bull, Shepherd, or Chihuahua? If it weighs more than 10 pounds, it must not be part Chihuahua, right? If it's black with long ears, it must be some Labrador, right? If it's small, it will certainly bark a lot! Looks like a Pit Bull, must be a Pit Bull.

WHAT BREED IS MY ADOPTED DOG?

the ears have it

erect, drop, bat, rose, semi-pricked, button, butterfly, candle-flame, filbert, folded, or somewhere in between?

An expert in the field of DNA research, Dr. Gunter says, "Scientists don’t yet know precisely how the behaviors of different breeds combine in a dog, Gunter points out. “Genetic influences of multiple breeds do not combine like dabs of differently colored paints or dashes of our favorite attributes,” she says. “I’m uncertain how informative it is to know the breed heritage of your mixed breed dog if we don’t know how multiple breeds affect behavior.” Maybe it’s better, she says, to just take your dog’s behaviors and work with them."
