PROJECTS ONGOING, NEW AND ONE TIME DONATIONS
Dog Food DonationsEvery month we buy, most often Rachel Ray dry dog or Dog Chow, food from Walmart either in San Diego or across the border from Tecate and Mexicali.
We use our rescue credit card to buy the food. The pick up person transports the food to Mexicali, Tecate, or Tijuana, and most often the food is used to feed street dogs. Most recently a wonderful new addition to our cause has offered dog food donations offered to her by pet stores. Food that is outdated or not sellable for some other reason is donated to our newest volunteer, W. |
Veterinarian Expenses
A recent recipient of really your adoption fees is Mariano whose teeth must have been painful.
MARIANO
Sure, adoption fees pay for basic vetting of 75 percent of adopted dogs. Some dogs have extensive vetting expensive never covered by adoption fees.
Other dogs don't make it even though we spend hundreds of dollars.
In Mariano's case, he is now ready for adoption. After being beat without hesitation, someone left his skull cracked and his body limp.
He is the most gentle animal you will ever be lucky enough to meet. He won't ever run a marathon or be picked as a search and rescue dog, but he is the perfect cuddle buddy.
His before and after teeth pictures are above. Paid for by adoption fees and on very rare occasions, we receive small donations.

Spay and Neuter VouchersAnother exciting ongoing project: with your adoption fees and donations, we help families sterilize their pets. Most recently in March 2021, a coordinator and adoption coach, Rosy, learned of 18 dogs that are living on one piece of property in TJ. The people are good people; they just don't have money. There is no where for the dogs to go. In some towns, electric shock is still used to euthanize dogs. They need a little help. We are raising funds to pay for sterilizing 18 dogs.
